Door to Door Service at Your Convenience

McDonough County has a superb mass transit system called McDonough County Public Transportation or MCPT. The system includes both the Go West bus system and demand response services that provide scheduled door-to-door pick-up and drop-off for seniors, the disabled and others.

The Go West Bus System runs through the streets of Macomb daily and on weekends. Some bus routes are concentrated around the Western Illinois University campus, while other routes wind through the city to enable residents easy access to the most-traveled places. Buses on the city routes operate from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. Buses also operate later at night during the WIU regular school year between the Macomb Square, the Western Illinois University campus and along East and West Jackson Street. Campus route buses operate until Midnight during the regular school year.

Demand response services are based on reservations made 24-hours before a pick-up is needed. The MCPT central dispatch center call number is 837-RIDE (7433). Reservations for demand response services can be made Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
