Demand Response

Demand response is the name given to door-to-door transportation. In McDonough County the service is available for senior citizens, the disabled and many other groups. This service is provided by the American Red Cross and Bridgeway through arrangements with the MCPT. All of the vehicles are accessible for the disabled and those with walking difficulties. Reservations for demand response service must be made in advance the preceding business day by calling 837-RIDE (7433), Monday through Friday. Demand response service is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The demand response fare is based on a graduated fee structure. The general public fare is $2.00 for one-way trips within a municipality and $3.00 for one-way trips between municipalities. Seniors 60 years of age and older ride for free and the disabled ride for reduced one-way fares of $1.00 within municipalities and $2.00 between municipalities. Regular demand response service is only provided within McDonough County.

Transportation is also provided outside of McDonough County within a two-hour radius of Macomb for non-emergency medical appointments. This service is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and must be scheduled in advance by calling 837-7433. The out-of-county one-way fare is $5.00.
